Ingredients

  • Groundnuts (raw) 8 oz
  • Onions 2
  • Tomato 1 ripe
  • Jaggery 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves 1 tsp
  • Ghee
  • Grind to a paste:
  • Poppy seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Gingelly seeds 1 tsp
  • Dry red chilies 2
  • Mango powder (amchoor) 1 tsp
  • Coconut 1/4
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Chop the onions and fry till brown in a little ghee.

  2. Add the masala paste and cook till it separates from the ghee.

  3. Add nuts, chopped tomato, and jaggery, salt to taste and 1 pint water.

  4. Cook gently till the nuts are tender.

  5. Serve hot, garnished with finely chopped coriander leaves and accompanied by hot puris.
