  • Mutton legs 1 ¼ kg
  • Cloves 6
  • Red chilli whole 10
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Water 3 cups
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Brown onion ½ cup
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • White cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Onion seeds 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Jaggery 4 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 4 tbsp
  • Salt 1 ½ tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil mutton legs with salt,  turmeric and 3 cups of water till leg tender and little stock remains.

  2. Take a pan heat oil.

  3. Now saute, whole red chillies, mustard seeds and cloves.

  4. Now add the boiled mutton legs with chilli powder, cumin seeds, onion seeds, ginger garlic paste and  jaggery. Fry very well for 10 minutes.

  5. Add lemon juice, left over stock, simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Add yogurt and fry well until oil comes on top, then delicious achari raan will be ready to serve.
