Methi Paneer is a popular dish all over the South Asia. Cottage cheese (paneer) is fried and cooked with paste of fenugreek leaves.

Ingredients

  • Milk 1 liter
  • Fenugreek leaves 2 bunches
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee as required
  • Chilli powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Lime juice of 1

Cooking Directions

  1. Make paneer by squeezing lime juice into boiling milk.

  2. Tie tightly in a muslin cloth to remove all liquid.

  3. Do not throw away this liquid.

  4. Chop fanugreek leaves finely and boil in 1/2 cup water till soft. Grind to a paste.

  5. Cut paneer into 1/2" squares and deep fry to a golden brown.

  6. Heat ghee and the methi paste.

  7. Stir till it cooks.

  8. Then add finely chopped tomatoes and other ingredients.

  9. Cook till the ghee separates.

  10. Add the paneer pieces and a little of the paneer water.

  11. Cover and cook till paneer is soft and methi covers it.
