Ingredients

  • Minced meat ½ kg (mutton or beef)
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Onions 2 (large, sliced)
  • Cumin seed powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies 20 (cut in half lengthwise, rinse out seeds of 10)
  • Curry leaves ½ bunch
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • Water as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat the oil and fry the sliced onions for 5 minutes until golden brown.

  2. Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry for 2 minutes.

  3. Then add the minced meat and fry for 10 minutes until browned.

  4. Now pour in 4 cups of water and the salt.

  5. Bring to the boil, then cook covered for ½ hour.

  6. Mix in cumin seed powder and coriander powder and cook for a further 5 minutes.

  7. Add the green chillies to the pot, cook on high heat for 5 minutes, then stir in the curry leaves.

  8. Dish out and serve hot.
