Sift dry ingredients.
Add butter, buttermilk and bananas. Beat for 2 minutes.
Add eggs and beat for one minute. Pour into two sandwich baking tins. Bake in moderate oven - 180 degrees celcius, for 30 to 35 minutes.
Allow to cool.
Spread with banana icing and sliced bananas between layers.
Decorate top with banana icing and banana slices.
Banana Icing: Mix sugar, flour and milk.
Place over medium heat, and let boil for 2 minutes. Take off heat.
Add butter. Beat until thick.
Cool.
Decorate Banana Spice Cake.
