Ingredients

  • Milk powder 3 cups
  • Eggs 2
  • A pinch of brown color
  • Pistachio ½ cup
  • Clarified butter 2 tbsp
  • Plain flour 4 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1 ½ tsp
  • Silver paper for garnishing
  • For Syrup:
  • Sugar ½ kg
  • Few drops of kewra essence
  • Rose water as required

Cooking Directions

  1. For syrup:

  2. Add sugar and water to a cooking pot and cook to form thick syrup.

  3. Then add few drops of kewra essence and rose water and mix, your syrup is ready.

  4. For Gulab Jaman:

  5. Add milk powder, plain flour, baking powder, clarified butter and eggs and mix.

  6. Knead to form fine dough.

  7. Cover with a wet cloth and keep aside.

  8. Form two equal portions of the dough and mix brown color in one of the portions.

  9. Heat frying oil in a wok.

  10. On medium flame, add balls of both brown and plain dough and fry.

  11. When gulab jamans are cooked, immediately transfer form wok to the syrup bowl.

  12. Garnish with silver paper and serve.
