This delectable fish is fried and baked with tomato and spicy gravy. This thali fish is superb to try in winters season. Serve with paratha and cucumber, onion slices.

Ingredients

  • Fish 1 kg
  • Flour 2 tbsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Carom seeds powder ½ tsp
  • Red chili 1 tsp
  • Oil (for frying) 1 cup
  • Ingredients for gravy
  • Fried onion 1 cup
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Tamarind pulp 4 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds (roasted) 2 tbsp
  • Sesame 2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Tomato 2
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Green chilies 6
  • Curry leaves 4
  • Oil 4 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Marinate fish with flour, salt, carom seeds powder, and red chili powder.

  2. Then fry in oil.

  3. Method for gravy:

  4. In a pan, put yogurt, tamarind pulp, red chili powder, coriander powder, ginger garlic, curry leaves, poppy seeds, sesame, fried onion, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Make a layer of this mixture in Thali, now put the fried fish and top with tomato slices and green chilies.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes in a pre heated oven of 200 degrees.
