  • Very small potatoes 1 lb
  • Onions 1
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Green chilies 3
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Ground cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Spring curry leaves 1
  • Oil or ghee 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil the washed potatoes in their jackets until tender.

  2. Remove the skin.

  3. Heat oil in a kaerai and add mustard seeds.

  4. Wait until they begin to crackle, and then add chopped onion and remaining spices.

  5. Add potatoes, salt and 1/4 pint water.

  6. Cook until dry and the potatoes are nicely browned.
