Soak the dal in water. Skin the pumpkin and cut into small pieces.
Heat 2 tbsps. ghee in a pressure cooker and fry the chopped onions.
When browned, add the ginger, garlic
and green chillies and fry for 2 minutes.
Add a pinch of asafoetida and other masalas.
Stir and add the lauki, dal and salt.
Keep stirring for ten minutes then add water to cover the dal and lauki.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Serve with puris.
