Cottage cheese is known as Paneer and is used in number of dishes. Paneer is a rich source of protein and is very nutritious, its urprisingly easy to make if you follow these simple steps.

Ingredients

  • Fresh milk 2 litres
  • Curd ½ kg
  • Salt 1 tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Add salt to curd and mix.

  2. Bring milk to a boil.

  3. Then add curd mixture and stir.

  4. Keep on fire till curd separates.

  5. Let it cool for a little while.

  6. Put a wet muslin (malmal) cloth in the paneer mold and pour the mixture in it.

  7. Cover with the lid and press lightly so all the water drains out.

  8. Cool, cut into slices and serve.

  9. Chef's tip: chopped parsley, crushed garlic, crushed black pepper or roasted crushed cumin can be added to flavour the paneer.
