Khoya matar is a special curry from Banaras. This curry is great, creamy and so much different from the usual curries. It is excellent for main course, contains the sweetness of green peas and has sweetish spicy flavor.

Ingredients

  • Peas 2 cup
  • Cloves 2
  • Solid milk 1 cup
  • Green chili 2 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • All spice ½ tsp
  • Tomatoes 2 (finely chopped)
  • Coriander leaves 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Oil ¼ cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil in a wok, add cloves with solid milk, stir on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. Add chopped ginger and green chilies.

  3. Now add salt, coriander powder, chili powder and all spice with chopped tomatoes, fry well.

  4. Add peas with ½ cup water, cover and cook on low flame till peas tender.

  5. Lastly add coriander leaves and remove.
