In a saucepan add the mixed fruits, dates, raisins, water, white sugar, brown sugar and butter.
Heat the mixture until the butter melts and comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to a simmer uncovered for 8 minutes.
Add the soda. Turn the flame off.
Add the eggs plain flour, cinnamon powder and apple juice.Mix well.
Put the pudding in a well greased aluminum steamer.
Cover with a large piece of aluminum foil.
Place the lid firmly on the steamer and boil for 5 hours.
Top the boiling water up from time to time.
Allow the pudding to cool.
You can refrigerate the pudding for up to 6 weeks.
