  • Sweet potatoes 1/2 lb
  • Salt 1/2 tsp or to taste
  • Cardamom (powdered) 2 pods
  • Rice flour 2 1/2 oz
  • Grated coconut 1 oz
  • Water 3 tbsp
  • Sugar or jaggery 4 oz
  • Turmeric powder 1/8 tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them.

  2. Mix cardamom, sugar, coconut and salt with the potatoes.

  3. Make small balls from this paste. Mix flour, turmeric and salt to taste, with a little water and make a thick batter.

  4. Dip the small potato balls into the batter and fry in oil.

  5. Serve hot.
