  • Rice 200 gm
  • Pigeon peas (Urad daal) 50 gm
  • For Filling:
  • Gram lentils (Chana daal) 1/4 kg
  • Jaggery 1/4 kg
  • Coconut 1/2
  • Cardamom (crushed) 10
  • Cashew nuts (crushed) a few
  • Ghee for frying

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak gram lentils for 2 hours.

  2. Then wash the gram lentils and grind it into a very thick paste using a little water.

  3. Now steam cook the paste.

  4. Remove and break into small pieces.

  5. Make a one thread consistency syrup with jaggery.

  6. Add the gram lentils, cashew nuts and coconut scrapings and cook.

  7. Add powdered cardamom and remove from flame. Make small balls.

  8. Now mill the rice and pigeon peas.

  9. Add water and make thick batter.

  10. Dip the balls one by one and deep fry in ghee.
