Its a shortbread type biscuits that is not too sweet, with the added flavour of ground almonds. The dough is a bit crumbly, however it is still easy to work with to roll and cut out. The egg white brushed on top and almonds gives these biscuits a beautiful texture & taste.Try out, your kids will demand at their next party!

Ingredients

  • Flour ½ cup
  • Ground almonds ¼ cup
  • Butter 2 ½ ounce
  • Rice flour 1 tbsp
  • Icing sugar 2 tbsp
  • Flaked almonds 4 tbsp (toasted)
  • Ingredients for icing:
  • Icing sugar ½ cup
  • Egg white ½ beaten
  • Flour ½ tsp
  • Pink colour 2 drops

Cooking Directions

  1. Beat butter and 2 tbsp icing sugar till fluffy.

  2. Add in flour, ground almond and rice flour, knead lightly until smooth.

  3. Now roll, then cut into heart shape with cutter.

  4. Place on lightly greased tray, bake on 150 degree for 12 minutes.

  5. Remove from oven, spread with icing sugar on each biscuit, sprinkle with toasted almond.

  6. Method for icing: Beat half of egg white lightly with fork.

  7. Mix in sifted icing sugar and flour.

  8. Add drops of pink food colour, use as required.
