As the name implies Peshawari karahi gosht is one of the most famous traditional food recipe in Peshawar. Mutton chops are marinated in simple spices and soya sauce giving a wonderful delicious flavoursome meaty mutton dish.

  • Mutton chops 1/2 kg
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Black pepper coarsely (ground) 1 tsp
  • Meat tenderizer 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Marinate mutton chops with salt, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, soya sauce, coarsely ground black pepper and meat tenderizer for 1 hour.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, add marinated chops and cook over very low flame with half cup water till tender.

  3. Serve with boiled vegetables and French fries.

  1. Are you sure they use Ginger, Soya Sauce and Meat tenderiser in Peshawari chop grills ? I think, they use only salt, lamb fat, juice of Khatta and garlic paste. No spices. The speciality of authentic Peshawari barbecue is that they use least spices and present the true taste and flavor of meat.
