It is a quite popular and well liked Pakistani dish. It has a good flavor of whole spices and onion. It can be served as a main course with average effort for a good meaty and spicy taste and texture.

  • Mutton ½ kg (small pieces)
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Green chilies 4 (coarsely chopped)
  • Whole red chilies 6
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Onion 4 - 5 (coarsely chopped)
  • Red chili 1 tsp heaped (crushed)
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  • Garlic 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  • White cumin whole 1 tsp
  • Mixed whole spice 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Yogurt 4 tbsp
  • Water 1/2 cup

Cooking Directions

  1. In a pan put together oil, mutton pieces, tomatoes, salt, green chilies, onions, and yogurt.

  2. Then add crushed red chili, ginger, garlic, white cumin seeds, whole red chilies, mixed whole spice and turmeric.

  3. Cook over low flame for 30 minutes.

  4. If required add water.

  5. When meat is tender, stir fry till oil forms a layer.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
