  • Heaped gram flour 1 tbsp
  • Water 1 cup
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped vegetables of choice 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • Tamarind water A little
  • Oil as required
  • Curry leaves 8
  • Chopped ginger 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil and fry the mustard, fenugreek and cumin seeds.

  2. When they splutter, add gram flour and cook on a very low heat till slightly brown.

  3. Add water according to the amount of gram flour used and add the chopped vegetables.

  4. Add salt to taste and turmeric powder, curry leaves and ginger.

  5. Let it cook. When vegetables are tender, add little tamarind water and let it simmer.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice.
