Basandi or Basundi is an Indian dessert made with thickened milk and nuts. Cardamom adds a delicious aromatic flavor in basandi. A rich creamy dessert to serve.

  • Milk 2 liters
  • Lemon juice 2 tbs
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Green cardamoms 8 nos
  • Almonds 6 nos
  • Pistachios 6 nos

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil milk in a karahi.

  2. Keep stirring till the milk reduces & thick.

  3. Remove it from the fire & leave it a side.

  4. Add the lemon juice into the milk; keep stirring, till the milk become granular in consistency.

  5. Return back the milk to medium flame.

  6. Add the sugar & cook for further 10 minutes remove it from the fire.

  7. Transfer to a bowl, & add cardamoms & the dry nuts.

  8. Serve it hot or cold.
