Ingredients

  • Mutton 1 kg
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Rice 4 cups
  • Onions 4 (sliced)
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • All spices powder
  • Tomatoes ½ kg (finely sliced)
  • Green chilies 4 - 6 (vertically sliced)
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper 2 tbsp (crushed)
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp oil and add mutton, lemon juice and salt to taste.

  2. Cook until meat juices are all absorbed.

  3. In a cooking pot, heat a cup of oil and sauté onions until they turn golden brown.

  4. Spread fried onion on an absorbent sheet and then shift to blender with ginger garlic paste and tomatoes.

  5. Blend to form a fine paste and pour the paste to cooking pot with meat and stir fry.

  6. Then add black pepper and salt to taste and stir quickly.

  7. Boil 3 cups rice with all spices powder and salt until half cooked.

  8. Grease a cooking pot and make a layer of half of the rice then meat and green chilies, then the remaining rice.

  9. Allow simmering on low flame until the pot is filled with steam.

  10. Delicious Mutton Afghani Pulao is ready to serve.
