Ingredients

  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • Yellow gram lentil 200 gm
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Black cardamom 2
  • Green cardamom 4
  • Cloves 4
  • Black pepper whole 6-8
  • Cinnamon stick 1 medium
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Onion 2 medium
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Green chilies 6
  • Chili powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Lemon juice 4 tbsp
  • Whole coriander seeds 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves 1/2 cup
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Ghee 1/4 cup
  • Garlic chopped 2 tbsp
  • Whole red chilies 8

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak lentil for half an hour, than boil with 4 cups of water till it tenders almost for half an hour.

  2. Blend this boiled lentil in the blender.

  3. Bind whole coriander seeds and curry leaves in a malmal cloth.

  4. Heat up oil in a pan and add Black cardamom, Green cardamom, Cloves, Black pepper whole and Cinnamon stick.

  5. Add onions and fry till golden brown. Add little bit of water after frying onions.

  6. Add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, salt and coriander powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

  7. Add mutton, cook for 10 minutes than add yogurt and cook for 4-5 minutes.

  8. Place spice bag of coriander seeds and curry leaves, pour 2 cups of water and cover with lid till meat almost tenders.

  9. Pour blended lentil and 1 cup water. Cover it with lid until meat is finely tender.

  10. Heat up ghee in a pan and fry chopped garlic and whole red chilies until garlic turns light golden.

  11. Pour bhagar and lemon juice in dalcha.

  12. Squeeze juice of spice bag in dalcha and mix well.

  13. Sprinkle green chilies before serving.
