Wheat crackers are sort of biscuits that are good for diabetic patients as well as for people who are conscious for their weight. All they need is just replace the regular biscuits with these one. These are not that tough to prepare so do give it a go!

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour 1 ¾ cups
  • Flour 1 ½ cups
  • Salt ¾ teaspoon
  • Oil 1/3 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Salt for sprinkling

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, flour and 3/4 teaspoon salt.

  3. Pour in the oil and water; mix until just blended.

  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough as thin as possible - no thicker than 1/8 inch.

  5. Place dough on an ungreased baking sheet, and mark squares out with a knife, but don't cut through.

  6. Prick each cracker with a fork a few times, and sprinkle with salt.

  7. Bake at 175 degrees C for 15 to 20 minutes or until crisp and light brown.

  8. When cool, remove from baking sheet, and separate into individual crackers.
