  • Rice ½ kg
  • Minced beef 1 kg
  • Onion 3
  • Tomato 4 – 5
  • Green chili 8 – 10
  • Coriander ½ bunch (chopped)
  • Black cumin 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tbsp
  • Whole black pepper 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves 4 – 5
  • Small cardamom 4 – 5
  • Cinnamon 2 sticks
  • Clove 4 – 5
  • Tamarind paste 1 cup
  • Clarified butter 1 cup
  • Salt as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash and soak the rice.

  2. Then half boil the rice with the bay leaves, black cumin and salt.

  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chopped onions till they turn brown.

  4. Remove and place them on an absorbent paper.

  5. In the same pan add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamoms, and black pepper and mustard seeds.

  6. Then add the ginger garlic paste, and minced beef.

  7. Fry well till the oil forms a separate layer on top.

  8. Add a cup of water and boil till the meat is almost tender.

  9. Then add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies.

  10. Cook until the water dries.

  11. In a large saucepan add a layer of rice followed by the tamarind paste and brown onions.

  12. Then spread a layer of beef followed by another layer of rice add the tamarind paste brown onions and sprinkle the chopped coriander.

  13. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

  14. The biryani is ready to be served.
