  • Eggplants whole sliced and salted 2
  • Tomatoes boiled and pureed 4
  • Green chilies whole sliced 4
  • Red chilies 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder ground 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic and ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon stick roasted and ground 1
  • Curry leaves 7
  • Lemons 4
  • Mustard seeds (rai) 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Dalda or your choice of cooking oil 3/4 cup

    1. Boil the dal with haldi and tomato. For bagar add sarsoon, jeera in heated oil with a few sookhi mirch till everything sputterss, quickly add crushed lasson ground adrak and a litle hing. Pour the dal in this bagar. Add salt to taste and let the whole hing boil. Before taking it off the stove sprinke dhanya patha. You are ready to serve. Pl. note you must keep the consistency thick.
