Ingredients

  • Gram lentils ½ kg (soak for 6 hour)
  • Sugar ½ kg
  • Clarified butter 1 ½ cup
  • Milk 1 litter
  • Green cardamom 4 (crushed)
  • Green cardamoms 1 tsp (ground)
  • Solid milk ½ cup
  • Almond 3 tbsp (blanched and sliced)
  • Pistachio 3 tbsp
  • Yellow color 1 pinch
  • Silver paper as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil the gram lentils in milk till it dries and the lentils tender.

  2. Allow the lentils to cool then blend it.

  3. Heats clarified butter in a pan and add crushed cardamoms along with the ground lentils and fry well for at least half an hour till light brown.

  4. Then add in sugar and continue to cook, the halva looks thin at this time, keep frying well till it leaves clarified butter at the sides of the pan.

  5. Add solid milk and fry for another 10-15 minutes.

  6. Serve in a flat platter.

  7. Sprinkle almonds and pistachios.

  8. Top with silver paper and cut into pieces.
