  • Beef/Mutton 700 g
  • Onion finely chopped 1/3 cup
  • Cumin Ground 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander Ground 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Ground 1 tsp
  • Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper Ground 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger Ground 2 tsp
  • Garlic Ground 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon 3 sticks
  • Cardamoms 4
  • Cloves 4
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Cooking Oil 1 cup
  • Pullao Rice 500 g
  • Green Chillies 8
  • Shelled Green Peas 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Cut the meat into small cubes.

  2. Except the rice, green chillies and peas place all other ingredients in a saucepan.

  3. Add 2 cups of water.

  4. Cook over a low heat till meat is tender.

  5. Stir and fry the meat for 10 minutes over a low heat.

  6. Add rice 3 1/2 cups of water, chillies and peas.

  7. Stir, cover and cook over moderate heat for 18-20 minutes.

  8. Remove from heat and keep covered for 15 minutes.

  9. Serve with salad or borhani.
