Must have tried different batters for deep frying in many recipes, what about an idea of grated coconut. Here beef steaks dipped in seasoned flour and then a thick coating of grated coconut, gives deliciously fried steak. Try this most unique way of cooking beef steaks.

Ingredients

  • Beef steaks 4 - 6
  • Papaya paste 4 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For Coconut Mixture:
  • All purpose flour 2 cup
  • Corn flour ½ cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Chinese salt 1 tsp
  • Eggs 2
  • Coconut powder 2 cups
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to tast

Cooking Directions

  1. Firstly mix papaya paste, all spice powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, lemon juice, and salt.

  2. Now place the steaks in a mixing bowl now marinate for 1 hour.

  3. Then add 1 ½ cup water in a saucepan and add the marinated meat, cover and cook on a medium flame until all the water dries.

  4. In a separate bowl add one cup all purpose flour, corn flour, red chili powder, eggs, Chinese salt, and salt.

  5. Mix all the ingredients to form a thick batter.

  6. Coat the beef steaks with the remaining all purpose flour, dip in the batter and finally coat with the coconut powder.

  7. Deep fry on a medium flame until the beef turns golden brown.
