Chicken Pineapple Curry has a great delightful taste. Its very simple and easy with good spicy and sweet taste. Serve hot with boiled fried rice or chapatti. Always great to have in all seasons.

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Onion 1/2 cup (chopped)
  • Ginger paste 2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander 1/2 tsp (ground)
  • Pineapple 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  • Cinnamon sticks (2.5 cm pieces)
  • Cardamoms 3
  • Cloves 2
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Green chilies 3 - 4 (pared)
  • Cooking oil 1/2 cup
  • Salt and sugar to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash the chicken and cut into 10 pieces.

  2. Heat the oil in a wok and fry the onion light brown.

  3. Add the chicken and stir-fry for 2 minutes add ginger, turmeric, chili powder, coriander and remaining spices, let it cook till chicken is tenders.

  4. Add the pineapple green chilies, sugar and salt.

  5. Keep over moderate heat.

  6. Stir from time to time. When oil separates put remove from heat.

  7. Serve hot boiled fried rice, chapatti.

  1. Dear Sir or Madam,I am going to attempt this recipe. I am not an experienced Indian recipe cook! I will add some peppers, (red and orange), carrots and peas because I feel there is not much veg in it but I will only add a small amount of veg because I will be travelling with this curry to share with some elderly friends and I don't want them to cook separate veg to go along side the curry.Yours faithfully,Karen

I read a very negative comment about this recipe that is really a pessimistic way to it is possible that ,this recipe literally made you vomit,excuse me its not the fault in recipe,its the fault in your taste buds, in fact your taste of chicken pine apple is not developed e.g.the people who try chicken corn soup first time ,they are also having the same response like you but contrary who are addicted of that never prefer any other.Munazza Nouman

  3. I tried this recipie for the first time; as I am a great cook many people ask me to make food for parties however i made this recipie and it literally made me VOMIT it was amazingly DISGUSTING!! :( IT HAS PUT ME OFF CHICKEN FOR MY WHOLE LIFE!!! ---------------------- I am SOOOO sad!
