Sweet and Sour Chicken

Mix chicken, Chinese masala, soya sauce, egg and corn flour in a bowl and set aside.

Heat oil in wok, fry chicken pieces golden one at a time.

Mix corn flour, water, pineapple juice, vinegar, sugar, soya sauce and tomato ketchup in a bowl to make sauce.

Heat oil in a pot, fry ginger and garlic for a few seconds.

Add spring onions, capsicum, pineapple and prepared sauce, cook till thick, add salt, fried chicken and black pepper, mix and dish out.

Note: To prepare Chinese five spices masala, mix ¼ tsp each of powdered cloves, powdered mace, powdered cinnamon, powdered fennel seeds and powdered star aniseed and use as required.
