Chop the English spinach and keep the stems separate from the leaves.
Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion and stir fry till the onions turn brown.
In a cup take all the spices and make a paste with three tablespoon of water.
Add this paste to pan and stir fry till oil separates.
Add chopped potatoes and stir fry for 2 minutes.
Add salt and 1/2 cup of water and cook for 5 minutes.
Add the stems of the spinach and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the leaves, stir to mix, cover and cook for 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
