Handi kabab is a exotic meal that is completely based on a side dish. Fried kababs are simmered in a handi (clay pot) with a quick dry spicy curry.

  • Beef mince 1 kg
  • Egg 1 (lightly beaten)
  • Onion 1 (sliced)
  • Lemon juice of 2
  • Bread slices 2 (soaked in water, gently pressed to drench out the water and crumbled)
  • Green chilli 3 (chopped)
  • Green chili 3 (sliced)
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Green coriander 1 bunch (chopped)
  • Tomato ½ kg (sliced)
  • Black pepper 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli ½ tbsp (crushed)
  • Dry milk powder 2 tbsp
  • Gram flour 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Add bread slices, toasted gram flour, milk powder, chopped green chilies and salt in mince and grind it in a chopper.

  2. Add in lightly beaten egg and knead well.

  3. Make kababs and fry on low flame till done.

  4. Now take a clay pot (handi) or pan, add fry onion till light brown.

  5. Then add in tomato, red chilli, black pepper, ginger, garlic, salt and green chillies to cook for 5 minutes.

  6. When water dries, put kababs in it.

  7. Now add lemon juice and green coriander and simmer it on low flame for 3 minutes.

  8. Serve hot with raita and naan.
