One of the fourite foods of Pakistan - Karahi. Mutton or chicken cooked quickly cooked in frangrant spices and tomato based paste in a iron wok. This delicious chicken karhai recipe has the additional spice fenugreek enhancing the taste and providing a lovely aromatic dish.

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 4-5
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli flakes 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Fenugreek 2 tsp
  • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • All spices powder 1 tsp
  • Ginger julien cut 1 piece
  • Green chillies 6-8
  • Coriander leaves for garnish
  • Oil 1 cup

Cooking Directions

  1. In a wok heat oil put chicken ,fry till 5minutes take out in a dish put a side.

  2. In oil add ginger garlic paste fry it add turmeric, salt, red chilli and tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes.

  3. Now add chicken pieces and yogurt and cover with lid let it cook till chicken tender.

  4. Put fenugreek leaves, black pepper, all spices powder and julien ginger, cover lid and steam . 

  5. Granish with coriander leaves and serve.
