Ingredients

  • White lentil 1 cup (Daal Maash)
  • Yellow lentil ½ cup
  • Garlic cloves 3
  • Ginger ½ inch
  • Yogurt 1 kg
  • Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Ginger 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Almond 8 (chopped)
  • Tamarind 1 cup (paste)
  • Garlic dry ½ tbsp (powder)
  • Cumin 1 tbsp (white) (roasted, crushed)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black salt a pinch
  • Chat masala ½ tbsp
  • Sweet soda 1 tsp (powder)
  • Oil for fry

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak the lentils in water.

  2. Strain all the water from soaked lentil and grind with garlic, onion and mix soda in it.

  3. In a mixing bowl combine yogurt, pinch salt, sugar and mix.

  4. In tamarind paste, add dry garlic, cumin and little chat masala and cook it in pan.

  5. After 5 minutes, take out the tamarind paste.

  6. Add little sugar in paste.

  7. Tamarind chutney is ready.

  8. Heat oil in a wok and take another pan and heat water with little oil.

  9. When oil heat up make small balls from lentils batter and fry them till it turns golden brown.

  10. Then put them in lukewarm water.

  11. Take a deep dish and pour yogurt then almond and dry ginger from top.

  12. Place the drenched Fried Baras on the yogurt.

  13. Sprinkle chat masala and present it with chutney.
