Ingredients

  • Green and fresh marrow (lawki) 1 1/2 kg
  • Khoya or powder milk 2 cups
  • Sugar 3 cups
  • Almonds and pistachios 10 each (blanched and slivered)
  • Small cardamoms 8
  • Coconut (dried) 1 cup finely grated
  • Dalda Banaspati 3/4 cups
  • Sliver Waraq for decoration optional

Cooking Directions

  1. Grate vegetable marrow (lawki), put it into boiling water for three minutes.

  2. Drain and leave it in the sieve until there is no trace of water left.

  3. In a side pan heat he banaspati for two minutes.

  4. Then put I cardamoms and sugar, stir continuously.

  5. Put in the marrow and khoya before the sugar gets sticky.

  6. Stir for another 10-15 minutes.

  7. Don’t let it burn at the bottom of the pan.

  8. When it starts drying remove it from the heat and spread it on a buttered dish.

  9. Garnish with grated coconut, almonds, pistachios and silver waraq.
