Lightly seasoned fish is dipped in a flour and egg based batter, fried and served with a freshly prepared tartar sauce. A fishy appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Fish fillet ½ kg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice of 1
  • Oil for frying
  • For Batter:
  • All purpose flour ½ cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water as required
  • For Tarter Sauce:
  • Mayonnaise 1 cup
  • Onion 1 small (finely chopped)
  • Capsicum 1 small (finely chopped)
  • Green olives 2 – 3 (finely chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. For Tartar Sauce: Take a bowl, put all the ingredients in it and mix well.

  2. Serve cold with fish orly.

  3. For Fish: Marinate fish fingers in salt and pepper, garlic paste and lemon juice for 15 minutes.

  4. For Batter: Break eggs in a bowl and beat.

  5. Add flour, salt and pepper and water.

  6. Mix well with hand whisk till well combined.

  7. Now dip the marinated finger fish in batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden.

  8. Serve hot with tartar sauce.
