Ingredients

  • Pound Batter Dough
  • Butter 200 g
  • Fine sugar mix until creamy 175 g
  • Eggs add one egg at a time, keep mixing 4
  • Vanilla essence add and mix 1-2 drops
  • Chocolate powder sift and blend, 3 tsp
  • Flour 200 g
  • Baking powder sift, add to the mixture and combine. 2 tsp
  • Spoon the dough into the baking tin.

Cooking Directions

  1. Line a loaf tin, measuring 28 cm, or the base of a springform, about 23 cm in diameter, with aluminium foil, slightly grease the lining, and dust with flour.

  2. Keep ready! Preheat the oven! Bake in medium hot oven for approx 50-60 minutes, or until fully cooked when tested with a skewer.

  3. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the baking tin.

  4. To give the cake a shine, make a little sugar syrup by mixing 1 tablespoon of sugar with 2 tablespoons of water.

  5. Boil until thick then brush over the cake.
