This recipe is indeed a variation in Jalfrezi, yes no meat instead a lentil is used in it. A much taster flavor with blend of capsicum, tomato and onion. You can alternate Bengal gram lentil as well.

Ingredients

  • Whole black lentil (boiled) 250 gm
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Tomato paste 1 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Capsicum 1 (cubed)
  • Tomato1 (cubed)
  • Onion 1 (cubed)
  • Green Chilies 6
  • Yogurt ½ cup
  • Lemon juice 2tbsp
  • Mustard paste 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves ½ bunch

Cooking Directions

  1. In a pan, heat oil add ginger garlic and fry.

  2. When aroma comes add tomato paste, red chili powder, turmeric, salt and fry.

  3. After this, add boiled whole black lentil.

  4. In another pan, add capsicum, tomato, onion, green chilies, yogurt, lemon juice, mustard Paste, salt mix and spread on daal.

  5. In the end, add coriander leaves and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Serve with paratha or roti.
