Ingredients

  • Mutton 500 gm
  • Clarified butter/Oil ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Peanuts 3 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 3 tbsp (heapped)
  • Coconut powder 3 – 4 tbsp
  • Onion 2 (finely chopped)
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • All spice 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 2
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Potato 2 (medium)
  • Green chilies as required
  • Green coriander for garnish
  • Mint leaves for garnish

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil mutton in water with ginger garlic paste.

  2. Roast on griddle peanuts, poppy seed and coconut one by one without oil.

  3. Then grind in grinder with ¼ cup of water. Keep aside.

  4. Add onion on griddle without oil.

  5. Cook and stir till changed in color. Grind to make smooth paste.

  6. Heat oil in large pan add ginger garlic paste slightly fry.

  7. Add red chili, turmeric powder, all spice powder, salt, lemon, ground paste and yogurt let it cook on low flame till oil appear on surface.

  8. When smell removes then add some water and potatoes with green chilies stir and cook with covered lid till potatoes tenderized well.

  9. Keep thick consistency of gravy.

  10. Add water if needed then remove.

  11. Dish out and garnish with green coriander and mint leaves.
