Chicken teriyaki is grilled chicken lacquered with a sweet soy teriyaki sauce. It can be best served with garlic rice or vegetable rice. The classic chicken recipe prepared in the authentic Japanese cooking method, it's simply delicious.

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast 4 (boneless)
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • White pepper ½ tsp
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • For Teriyaki Sauce:
  • Chicken ½ kg (bones)
  • Ginger 2 inch piece
  • Garlic clove 8
  • Water 4 cup
  • Soya sauce ½ cup
  • Sugar ½ cup
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp (mixed with 4 tbsp water)

Cooking Directions

  1. For Sauce: In a sauce pan cook chicken bones, ginger, garlic, water, soya sauce and sugar in a pan for 15 to 20 minutes or till 2 cups liquid remains.

  2. Thicken sauce with corn flour, cook for 5 minutes and paste.

  3. For Chicken: Marinate the chicken with salt and white pepper for half an hour.

  4. Heat oil in a frying pan grill marinated chicken breast on medium flame for 10 minutes till done.

  5. Remove cut chicken pieces in long diagonal strips, spoon teriyaki sauce over them serve them immediately with garlic rice.
