Prawn curry is perfect blend of spices with coconut cream. It is South Indian touch curry, the delicate flavors of coconut are a perfect complement to the taste of the prawns. It serves best with plain rice.

Ingredients

  • Fresh prawns ½ kg
  • Lemon 2
  • Onion chopped 2
  • Green chili 6
  • Lemon leaves 2 - 3
  • Curry leaves 4 - 6
  • Coconut cream powder 2 packet
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Black pepper crushed 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Green coriander chopped 2 tbsp (garnish)
  • Ginger julienne 1 tbsp (garnish)

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onions till it turns golden brown.

  2. Place the onions on an absorbent paper and crush.

  3. Now cook prawns in a pan and till color changes.

  4. Then add crushed onion, turmeric, black pepper crushed, red chili powder and ginger garlic paste and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.

  5. Now add green chilies, lemon leaves and curry leaves.

  6. Dissolve coconut cream powder in water and pour it curry.

  7. In the end sprinkle salt and squeeze the juice of lemons.

  8. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

  9. Garnish with coriander and ginger julienne, serve it with rice.
