Cumin pulao is really simple to make, with just whole lot of spices and perfect aromatic rice is done. It can make combinations with many dishes and enhance your main meal.

  • Basmati rice ½ kg
  • Salt to taste
  • Cinnamon 2 sticks
  • Whole black pepper ¼ tsp
  • Cloves 3 – 5
  • Black cardamom 2
  • White cumin ¼ tsp
  • Onion 2 (finely sliced)
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Oil ½ cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak basmati rice for half an hour.

  2. In a medium cooking pot, heat oil, fry onion till golden brown.

  3. Now remove half of the brown onions foe garnishing.

  4. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a few minutes.

  5. Also add cinnamon sticks, whole black pepper, black cardamom, cloves and white cumin, cook for a few minutes.

  6. Then pour 2 – 3 cups of water.

  7. When water comes to boil, add soaked rice.

  8. Cover the lid and let it cook on a medium flame till water dries up and rice cooks completely.

  9. Serve cumin pulao with brown onions.
