Soak basmati rice for half an hour.
In a medium cooking pot, heat oil, fry onion till golden brown.
Now remove half of the brown onions foe garnishing.
Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a few minutes.
Also add cinnamon sticks, whole black pepper, black cardamom, cloves and white cumin, cook for a few minutes.
Then pour 2 – 3 cups of water.
When water comes to boil, add soaked rice.
Cover the lid and let it cook on a medium flame till water dries up and rice cooks completely.
Serve cumin pulao with brown onions.
