Soak the Bengal gram in water for 30 minutes, drain.Put the jackfruit in a pan, along with the Bengal gram, garlic, ginger, red chilli powder, water salt and pepper, and boil till the jackfruit and Bengal fram are tender and all the water is absorbed, cool.

Ingredients

  • Raw Jackfruit(peeled) 500 g
  • Bengal Gram 1/2 cup
  • Garlic(sliced) 6-8 cloves
  • Ginger(sliced) 1"
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves(chopped) 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies(sliced) 3-4
  • Oil to fry

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak the Bengal gram in water for 30 minutes, drain.

  2. Put the jackfruit in a pan, along with the Bengal gram, garlic, ginger, red chilli powder, water salt and pepper, and boil till the jackfruit and Bengal fram are tender and all the water is absorbed, cool.

  3. Put the jackfruit mixture into a blender or food processr and grind to a smooth consistency, transfer to a bowl.

  4. Add the garam masala powder, coriander leaves and green chillies, knead with your hands and shape into small kebabs.

  5. Chill the kebabs in the rifregerator for half an hour, then fry them in a non-stick pan, using a little oil as required, until they are golden brown.

  6. Serve with a sauce, chutney or salsa.
