Falooda - An adaptation of the Persian dessert Faloodeh and was brought to the Indian subcontinent during the Mughal period. Delicious rose flavored milk (served with Ice Cream) which can be a refreshing drink or a unique dessert idea. Great for digestion after a heavy meal.

Ingredients

  • Milk 5 cups
  • Condensed milk 1/2 tin
  • Rose syrup as required
  • Fruit cocktail 1 cup
  • Strawberry ice cream 1 liter
  • Almond and pistachio as required (flaked)
  • Basil Seeds 1 tbsp (soaked in 1 cup of water)
  • Strawberry jelly 1 packet
  • Ingredients for Falooda:
  • Arrowroot 1, 1/2 cup
  • Water 3 cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Method for falooda: Mix together arrowroot and water, cook stirring continuously till glossy.

  2. Put the mixture in a falooda mold and place it into a vessel that has been filled with child water and ice.

  3. Mix milk and condensed milk together and chill for 4 hours.

  4. To serve: In a tall glass pour rose syrup, falooda, milk, scoop of strawberry ice cream, basil seeds and jelly.

  5. Garnish with sliced almonds and pistachios.
