  • Spinach 1 kg
  • Mash ki daal 1 cup
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Green chilies 4
  • Garlic 6 cloves
  • Whole red chilies 10
  • Ginger 2 tbsp sliced
  • Butter 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak mash ki daal in warm water.

  2. Also soak sliced spinach in turmeric powder.

  3. Now cook lentils and spinach together on low flame.

  4. When lentils are tender, mix lentils and spinach lightly and add salt, whole red chilies, sliced ginger, green chilies, 2tbsp butter and cook again for 10 minutes.

  5. Melt 2tbsp butter in pan and sauté garlic cloves in butter.

  6. Pour baghar on daal and serve with hot chapattis.
