  • Raw Mangoes 8
  • Mustard Powder 6 tbsp
  • Red Chilli Powder 4 tbsp
  • Fenugreek Seeds 4 tbsp
  • Salt 3 tbsp
  • Sesame Oil 1/2 liter

Cooking Directions

  1. Leave the raw mangoes in water for 15 minutes and dry them with a clean cloth.

  2. Cut them into pieces of 1-1/2 to 2 inches.

  3. Discard the seed / stone and the onion type layer on the pieces.

  4. Clean the cut pieces with dry cloth.

  5. Mix the mustard powder, red chilli powder, salt and fenugreek seeds together in a big bowl.

  6. Add one cup of oil and mix to a consistency that can be held in a fist.

  7. Take a few mango pieces at a time and mix them well with mustard, chilli, salt mix and put them in a ceramic jar or a big plastic container.

  8. Pour 1 inch oil above it or add one cup oil, and towards the end if a little mix remains it can be added on top.

  9. Then cover it with a lid, tie a neat thick cloth over it and store it.

  10. Mix it well on the third day.

  11. Taste it and if need salt may be added at this stage,serve and enjoy !
