Ingredients

  • Beast of mutton 1 lb
  • Ghee 1 dessertspoon
  • Coconut 1 large grated
  • Grind to a fine paste:
  • Dry red chillies 4
  • Cloves garlic 4
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander 1 dessertspoon
  • Turmeric 1/2 inch piece
  • Onion 1 large
  • Ginger 1/2 inch piece
  • Dry curry leaves a few
  • Cumin seeds 1 dessertspoon
  • Salt 1 tsp or to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Cut the meat into small cubes.

  2. Extract the milk from the coconut with only 2 tbsp hot water.

  3. Set this aside and extract the second milk using 1 pint hot water.Boil the meat in the milk together with the ground ingredients and salt.

  4. Then the meat is tender, remove it from the gravy.

  5. Fry it in the ghee. Then put it back into the gravy.

  6. Simmer for further 5 minutes.

  7. Serve with boiled rice and slices of lemon.
