I agree it is lengthy. Here are the ingredients and whatever I remember from the show as far as instruction goes: Cholay: 2 cups uncooked kabuli chana (soak for several hours, and boil with 2 pinches baking soda and 1/4 cup masoor dal until tender and dal ghul jayay). In 4 tbsp cooking oil saute 1 chopped onion, 1 tbsp ginger, 2-3 tomatoes and kind of bhoono it. Add 1 tsp ground black cardamom (kali ilaychee), 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp toasted cumin seeds, 2 tsp lal mirch, 1.5 tbsp anardana, and 2.5 tsp dried methi, and salt to taste. After the masala is done you add the chana/dal mixture and cook it well (but not so the chanay get mashed). She garnished with a mixture of what looked like cilantro, onion and tomato.
