  • Handmade fabric flowers are simple to make as well as so versatile. You can use flowers to make hair flower clips, wear as an ornament to brighten up a dress, or stitch them onto a handbag.

  • Material Required

  • For every kind of fabric flower you need:
Scrap material concerning 8x8 inches in size (20x20 cm)
Optional - constant quantity of meshing, for an admirer bit
Small quantity of felt during a matching/complementary color to your material
    Button, beads, or sparkly embellishment
    Fabric scissors
    Hot glue gun and glue

  • Make Fabric Flowers - Rounded Style

  • Steps 1 - Prepare Your Materials

  • Cut out 9 circles of fabric, about 2 inches in width. This will be the volume of the completed flower, so you can adjust your circle size accordingly. If you are adding tulle to your flower, then you will need nine circles of tulle also. Cutting out nine circles can be tiresome, thus you can save time by folding your cloth again and cutting out numerous circles at the similar time. You will also need to cut out 2 smaller circles from felt. Mine are concerning one inch in diameter.

  • Step 2 - Glue Your Flower Together

  • Fold up your first cloth circle in partially and then in partially again for making your first "petal". Put a spot of hot glue on the fold corner of cloth.

  • Glue the primary petal downward onto the small circle. Glue down 3 new petals to complete the first layer of flower. Then glue down the second layer. Glue down the next 3 petals to complete your 2nd layer. You can "fluff" up the petals at this step to give your flower extra structure. Now you have to add your last petal to the middle of the flower. Fold up it as on top of, as well as in the center glue down it with the help of small spot of glue.

  • Step 3 - Finish off Your Flower

  • You can depart your flower as is, or decorate it through a button, pearl or some kind. Here you can attach a glittery button in the middle.

  • Step 4 - Glue on a Clip

  • Now you will have to protect a clip onto the backside of your flower. Here I will show you how to attach it to a small hair clip but, you can easily attach it to a brooch backing or sew it directly onto an outfit or bag. Make two small cuts in the second circle of felt and feed your clip through the cuts. Place a small ring of hot glue on the circle of felt. Press your clip firmly onto the back of your flower to secure the clip in place.
