However, with time and difference of preferences, both the cultures have taken their own path. The same goes for their food. The names of their dishes are same, but taste somewhat different, depending on the preferred cooking style and taste.

However, with time and difference of preferences, both the cultures have taken their own path. The same goes for their food. The names of their dishes are same, but taste somewhat different, depending on the preferred cooking style and taste. Pakistan has a majority of Muslims, so their cuisine relies a lot on the preference and taste of Muslims. The same goes for India, due to the Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh majority.

  • Since sweets and desserts are the star of celebrations and festivals like weddings, Eid, new birth, Ramadan, new home or office, 12th rabi-ul-awal and Islamic New Year etc. The different celebration and festivals has found their own trademark sweets. The most common and cherished Pakistani sweets and desserts are: Burfi, Halwa, Kheer, Sheer Khorma, Laddu, Gulab Jaman, Rasgulla, Ras Malai, Balushahi, Kalakand, Shahi Tukry, Zarda, Jalebi, Gur Waly Chawal and Kulfa. All the sweets and desserts are prepared with different variations and ingredients.
