No doubt, summer is a beautiful season, with flowers in their full bloom and the sun shining brightly but scorching heat and mercury rising, can give a tough time in deciding the right make-up and skin care for the season that will make us look cool and also protect our skin from sun damages. Following are some tips on summer make-up and skin care as an answer to your summer dilemma:

1- Foundation: Avoid using foundations and try to use a tinted moisturizer. If foundation is necessary, try avoiding the centre of the face and hairline. Foundations should be oil-free or it is better to dilute your every day foundation with an oil-free moisturizer. These should be kept as light and dewy as possible and blend the foundation with a sponge for a flawless finish.

2- Blush: Blush should be avoided and even if used at all should be applied lightly so as to give a light shade to the cheeks because in summer the body heat and the temperatures give a natural pinkish shade to the cheeks.

3- Powder: Apply lose powder only because the pressed powder has the tendency to cake and clump when hit with moisture. A translucent tinted powder is good for summer.

4- Concealer: Use concealer around your eyes and a camouflaging product to cover blemishes, veins, redness or other small imperfections.

5- Eye Make-Up: The products that can handle the heat are a better choice. Choose water-proof make-up and eye pencils instead of liquid liners and switch to shadows that harden to a cream once applied. Skip mascara on lower lashes and line the upper lash lightly. Set the make-up with a light dusting of loose powder as this will help absorb any moisture that may cause eye-makeup to melt. You can also line your eyes with a brown eye shadow then apply mascara this helps in darkening the eyes and put more emphasis on the eyes without heavy make-up. Curl your lashes and use glossy black mascara shade on them to make them appear longer and your eyes bigger.

6- Lip Make-Up: Apply lipstick with a brush for smooth and even application. After using lipstick add touch of lip-gloss which actually gives a cool look or you can even use a frosty lipstick and can add a touch of your lip-gloss on the centre of your upper eyelids. Avoid using lip liners in summer. If the lips are thin only then use a liner but apply lightly. Natural looks for the lips is a better idea for summer. Use a lip balm to condition your lips, to protect them from the sun and to even out their texture.

7- Blotting: Keep wiping gently the sweat from face with the help of tissues.

Light colours should be worn during the day and at night you can choose to wear dark colours as well. Apply light eyeshades as dark colours are going to appear more if they bleed. Glossy and shimmering colours look good in summer.

Also, cheek sticks last longer in summer. Highlight eyes or lips but never both of them. Brightly accentuated eyes fit to natural lips, while pale and simple eye make-up suit rich coloured lips.
